The Creative Curriculum
Creativo! Academy practices a research-based curriculum inspired by progressive teaching concepts in the Reggio Emilia approach. Our curriculum honors each child’s creativity and encourages student discovery. The Creative Curriculum also recognizes the important role that teachers play in a child’s development. Teachers lead projects and activities designed to stimulate the four aspects of development that every child has: emotional/social development, physical development, cognitive development, and language development. In addition to the five aspects of development, there are seven essential skills that our curriculum emphasizes: focus/self control, perspective taking, communication, making connections, critical thinking, taking on challenges, and self-directed learning. The curriculum is further enriched with Spanish lessons, music lessons, animal discovery, and yoga; for these activities, external experts come to Creativo! to ensure that the best instruction is provided. The Creative Curriculum helps children learn to think both creatively and critically, giving them the tools to succeed both now and in the future.
